In the beginning of Act 5 scene 1, how is the fight between Cassio and Roderigo a “no lose situation” for Iago?In the beginning of Act 5 scene 1, the fight between Cassio and Roderigo is a “no lose situation” for Iago because if Cassio dies, Iago still gets the job as a lieutenant and Othello will keep believing he is an honest man. If Roderigo dies, then Iago won’t have to pay him back the money he was given to buy Desdemona jewels and Roderigo won’t be able to reveal to Othello the devious plans Iago set forth as revenge for not becoming Othello’s lieutenant.
Explain how Othello’s “put out the light” speech in the beginning of Act 5 scene 2 is horribly ironic.Othello’s “put the light out” speech in the beginning of Act 5 scene 2 is horribly ironic because the putting out of a light symbolizes the ending of someone’s life which creates irony with the end of the scene when Othello murders Desdemona.

How does Iago imply Bianca is involved in the attack on Cassio?Iago implies Bianca is involved in the attack on Cassio by suggesting that it was highly ironic and suspicious that the attack took place right outside her house. It is also known that she has been sleeping with Cassio and being paid for it as well. There was a high chance that she had gotten mad at Cassio for not wanting more of her and taking their relationship a step further into something real and not just as a job.

Describe what you feel is the overall theme/moral/lesson/universal truth of this play.
I believe the overall theme of the play is that revenge and jealousy can cause the most rooted people to lose their minds and act destructively eventually hurting the ones they care for. Also, miscommunication and spreading false information can even lead to your own destruction.
