The story of Othello has taught us about the power of jealousy and how it manipulates us into doing things we may later regret. As Shakespeare puts it, "the Green-eyed monster" is always hovering over us trying to get a chance to get into our heads. Jealousy is a theme that has been used in books, films, plays etc. for many years. It is mostly used in Romance novels and films as the center point for all the drama that occurs.
Even today, the story of Othello continues to be taught in schools all around the world to educate students on Shakespearean Literature as well as the moral lesson on jealousy. We learn a lot from this story such as how important, and in some cases vital, communication skills can be and how to look for proof instead of just relying on "she said/ he said".
Jealousy has also been a theme in children's movies/books. This is to show the new generations how they shouldn't be jealous of others and be thankful for what they have.
